Polari

Researching Polari I found out that Round the Horn, the BBC comedy show in the 1960s used this gay slang language to sneak naughty words into common use in the UK. It got me excited and I started to build a whole language called Tartan Polari using ChatGTP. I have enough for a small dictionary now. I was inspired to research this when I found out about Trump’s banning of words. It’s very cult-like to start controlling language. Scientology has an entire dictionary that people in the organisation use. Her podcast Sounds like a Cult (https://www.soundslikeacult.com) is fascinating. It’s worth knowing about how cults operate during these times.
